ABOUT THE PHOTOGRAPHER:

A native of Los Angeles, Paul LeGrand started working the streets as a freelance photojournalist covering breaking news stories back in the 1990’s, often parked in some seedy part of town late at night, listening to a police scanner and waiting for breaking news on the LAFD and LAPD radio frequencies. His images from those years, taken everywhere from the gritty streets of Central LA to the gated villas of Malibu, have been featured in national news stories and on an occasional magazine cover or two.

In time, Paul would turn his camera to a new kind of subject. Specializing in evidence photography, he began investigating claims for insurance carriers. This was his introduction to the often strange world of evidence photography and surveillance. Working his way up from claims to protective intelligence / executive protection, his cool demeanor and consistent results led him into the most high profile assignments.

Covering every subject from White Supremacists with drugs and automatic weapons living in trailers in the desert, to SWAT team cops off work on psychiatric disabilities, to the power elite of the entertainment industry, Paul gained a reputation in the industry as the “go to guy” for the most difficult surveillance photography work.

His evidence work has been used in prosecuting offenders, but more frequently he would find his skills used in multi-million dollar civil litigation. He's testified in Superior Courts throughout Southern California as the “bottom of the ninth, bases loaded” witness, taking the stand as the final witness so his images were fresh in the minds of jurors as closing arguments were given.

These days, Paul has turned his photographic eye towards portraits, event photography, and special projects, publishing a limited edition book titled “God’s Country” in 2007. With years of street reality images under his belt, Paul brings a unique perspective to environmental portraits, frequently using location shots instead of backdrops, getting his client or model out of the studio, into the street, and into their own environment for the photo session.

ABOUT YOUR FINE ART PRINT

Fine materials are used to assure long lasting beauty, and to protect your investment in fine art. To property care for your print, protect it from strong ultraviolet light such as direct sunlight. With proper care and handling, your framed print will last for many years to come. When all limited editions run out, the master will not be destroyed so the image can be used for other purposes such as licensing.

When you place an order for a limited edition print, our lab begins work once we have recieved cleared funds. The order is fulfilled and the finished work is reviewed for image quality by the artist. Finally, the work is hand signed, numbered, and dated by the artist. We can typically complete this process in a little over a week, though the exact time frame may vary depending on the size and complexity of the order.

We feel that many images of outdoor and nature scenes reproduce best on Kodak Endura Professional Metallic paper, while for portraits we prefer to use Fuji Crystal Archive lustre finish paper. Limited edition prints are typically shipped in a flat pack via USPS priority mail, or hand delivered / will call if the customer is in the local area. Matted prints are mounted using linen hinge tape, and signed, dated and numbered in pencil on the matte, and signed in ink on the back of the print. Custom framing and gallery wraps are also available on request.
